IPv6 Traffic Shaping Now a Reality

It turns out that the free ride on IPv6 shadow networks could now very well be over for P2P users.  Blue Coat Systems Inc has developed a packet shaper for IPv6.  Until now IPv4 packet shaping technology has not completely moved towards IPv6 networks, where some P2P traffic has been located over the past several years bi-passing some old traffic shaping technology.    Those using Blue Coat Network Systems just need to update the systems OS to the newest version to get IPv6 traffic shaping capabilities.

Many consumer devices currently use IPv6 already if you have an IPv6 capable router (newer routers are IPv6 compatible).  Those devices include desktop PCs running Windows 7, tablets or handset using Apple Inc. iOS and Android-based devices.
